Magnetic Resonance Imaging  (MRI)

A Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan uses a large, powerful magnet to make images. The MRI produces an extraordinary amount of detail, and the scan can be tailored to the disease or injury in question. Because it offers clear pictures of soft-tissue structures near bones, it is used to diagnose conditions such as multiple sclerosis, tumors, torn ligaments and strokes.
